How to Grow Your Brand on Pinterest

It’s 2021, time to embrace the platform you’ve been putting off for your business. You’ve heard Pinterest can be used for marketing, you’re just not sure where to start. *Dani Jae has entered the chat* Growing your brand on Pinterest can seem like a daunting task when you view Pinterest as this mysterious, Martha Stuart-esk website that you haven’t used since you planned that birthday party/your wedding/you needed a gluten free cookie recipe. But that’s kind of the cool thing about Pinterest, SO MANY PEOPLE DON’T KNOW THE POWER IT HAS. Did you know that about 48% of website traffic comes from Pinterest? Millions of people search it daily and you can put your brand in front of them. It’s pretty easy too.

  1. Make sure you have a business profile set up and all the back end work started. If you don’t have the basics set up, gran my Free Pinterest Workbook here. Ya won’t regret it, babe.

  2. Create boards that your ideal customer would be searching for. Are you a realtor? Create boards dedicated to the unique areas you help clients find homes in. “Oakland County Coffee Shops.” You should have about 10 boards your ideal client could find you through. One or two of these boards should be dedicated to just your content like “Success Stories” or “Dani Jae Blogs.” The rest of the boards should be a combo of your work and other Pinterest users.

  3. Follow the 70/30 rule. 70% of your pins should be other users content, 30% is your content. This gives your brand a personality and a broader net to cast for people to find you on Pinterest.

  4. Use fresh images and pins. Pinterest’s SEO is very fun to work with and very rewarding as long as you feed the machine new things. You can take one blog post and create 4-5 pins based on the content. Take those 4-5 pins and recreate them with a fresh layout and photo 1-2x. Boom, theres almost 10 fresh pins. This diversifies your content and builds your brand with just one blog!

  5. Utilize board and pin descriptions. The keywords used in the pin and board descriptions helps Pinterest get your content in front of more people the better you use those spaces. Share your story and try different keywords.

  6. Download Tailwind RIGHT NOW and get on those communities! Each one has their own rules but make sure to share your fresh pins in the communities that fit you best. Look for the communities that have lots of activity but don’t be afraid to switch it up and try other ones. Share your brand with those communities and watch your followers grow!

Pinterest can be the amazing tool you’ve heard many people claim it to be for years, you just have to take that step and set the tone for your brand there. Share what steps you’ve implemented below!
